Isaac Fayose Apologizes to Igbo People, Praises Lawrence Agubuzu on Nnamdi Kanu Remarks

Former Governor Isaac Fayose has issued a public apology to the Igbo people following controversial remarks in which he described all Igbos as “cash and carry.” In a statement, Fayose expressed sincere regret and formally withdrew the comment.
“I want to publicly apologize to the Igbo people for my statement in which I said that all Igbos are ‘cash and carry.’ I sincerely regret that remark and completely withdraw it,” he said.
Fayose also took the opportunity to commend HRH Ambassador Dr. Lawrence Agubuzu, the Igwe of Ezema Olo, for his courage in addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. He highlighted Agubuzu’s point that if activist Sunday Igboho is free, then Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should also be released.
The apology comes amid ongoing national debates about political detentions and the need for equitable treatment of all activists and citizens in Nigeria.
