Zenith Bank Names Okwudili Executive Director
Zenith Bank Plc has appointed Kennedy Onuwa Okwudili as Executive Director, effective May 1, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening its executive management cadre.
The bank disclosed that the appointment aligns with its long-standing succession strategy of grooming leadership talent from within its ranks.
Okwudili, a seasoned banker with over 25 years of experience, has built a career spanning credit and marketing, treasury, compliance, and operations. His professional journey within the bank has seen him serve across multiple regions and departments, reinforcing his institutional knowledge and leadership depth.
An accounting graduate of the University of Maiduguri, where he earned a Second Class Upper degree in 1998, Okwudili further obtained a Master of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2008, and a Master of Science in Accounting from Veritas University, Abuja, in 2021.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
Okwudili has participated in several executive education programmes, including leadership and directorship courses at Lagos Business School, Harvard Business School, and the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
Beyond banking, he currently serves as President of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria and is a member of the Knights of St. John International.
The appointment is expected to reinforce Zenith Bank’s leadership bench as it continues to consolidate its position in Nigeria’s banking sector.
