In her reaction, the lady argued that successful individuals are often criticised the moment they break barriers and dominate their industries. According to her, Funke Akindele’s recent promotional strategies for her films have attracted unnecessary backlash, similar to how Wizkid was once questioned and doubted before attaining global recognition.
She referenced a hypothetical scenario, saying it would be shocking if a respected veteran like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde were to describe dancing to promote a film as “unprofessional,” noting that such criticism often stems from people being uncomfortable with new approaches to success.
The lady further stated that “people hate it when the people they’ve looked down on eventually make it,” suggesting that criticism is sometimes rooted in envy rather than genuine concern for professionalism.
