EFCC DECLARES TWO WANTED OVER ALLEGED MULTI-BILLION NAIRA CRYPTO FRAUD

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun wanted in connection with a multi-million naira fraud linked to Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a now-defunct digital trading platform.

In a notice published on Wednesday, June 4, via its official social media channels, the anti-graft agency called on the public to provide credible information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects. The EFCC stated that the individuals are being sought for their alleged roles in orchestrating fraudulent schemes that led to massive financial losses for unsuspecting investors.

The commission reiterated its commitment to cracking down on cyber-enabled financial crimes, particularly within Nigeria’s expanding digital asset ecosystem.

CBEX reportedly collapsed in April, wiping out over ₦1.3 trillion in investor funds and sparking outrage among affected Nigerians who claim they were blindsided by the platform’s sudden shutdown.
