Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has sparked a heated online debate after responding sharply to an X (formerly Twitter) user who criticised her on-screen romance with fellow actor Daniel, suggesting their repeated kissing scenes were excessive and hinting at a possible off-screen relationship.
The X user questioned why Ogunmola did not share similar romantic scenes with another actor, Anthony, in her new movie, warning that “feelings can develop” and drawing a comparison to the widely publicised relationship between actors Yul Edochie and Judy Austin.
“To be honest, you and Daniel kissing movies is too much and it’s looking like you guys are an item. Why didn’t you kiss the 1st guy Anthony in your new movie? Remember that was how Yul and Judy started. Feelings can develop. You guys should tune it down.”
Ogunmola responded angrily, calling out what she described as an attempt to reduce her professional work to romantic scenes, while firmly dismissing any insinuation about her personal life. She stressed that her relationship with her co-actor is strictly professional and limited to work.
In her reply, the actress criticised the commenter for focusing on kissing scenes instead of the film’s story and message, adding that she and her colleague do not interact outside of work.
