Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Neo Akpofure, has issued a legal notice demanding a public retraction and apology from a lady who on Tuesday, February 17, accused him of sexual assault on social media.

The lady, using the handle @notralia, alleged that she and Neo were casual “friends with benefits” while attending the University of Calabar. According to her post, they had agreed to a no-relationship arrangement. She claimed that upon discovering Neo was in a relationship, she confronted him at his home, and it was then that the alleged assault occurred.

In a letter dated February 18, 2026, issued by the law firm E.L. Akpofure, San & Co., Neo’s legal team identified the accuser as Ms. Arikan Udoka and accused her of publishing defamatory content against their client. The lawyers described the allegations as “entirely false, malicious, and defamatory,” adding that they had damaged Neo’s reputation and exposed him to public ridicule.

The legal notice demanded that the X user delete the post and any related publications, issue a clear public retraction, and publish an apology acknowledging that the allegations were untrue. The lawyers also requested a written undertaking that no further defamatory statements would be made.

The firm warned that failure to comply within 48 hours would result in legal action, including a civil suit for defamation under Nigerian law.
