Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has penned a deeply emotional tribute to the late mother of Box Office Queen, Funke Akindele, as the family marks three years since her passing.
Iyabo Ojo described Funke Akindele’s mum as a beautiful soul, recalling her kindness, strength, and unwavering love not just for her children, but for everyone around her.
Reflecting on a moment as far back as 2004, Iyabo shared how Funke’s mum stood firmly by her when her children, Festus and Priscilla, were very young. According to her, she feared losing them at the time, but Funke’s mum reassured her with powerful words:
“No. Not on my watch.”
Iyabo went on to describe her as a great doctor and an even greater prayer warrior, noting that despite occasional disagreements between her and Box Office Queen, Funke Akindele, the late matriarch never stopped calling her or praying for her.
Ending the tribute, Iyabo affirmed that she would always love her, describing her as a true mother to all, and prayed for her soul to continue resting in peace.
