The ongoing custody dispute involving Nigerian music star Davido and Sophia Momodu has taken a dramatic turn following a public statement issued by her legal team and a subsequent video released by the lawyer’s sister.
In a formal statement dated February 16, 2026, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors addressed what it described as inflammatory public statements allegedly directed at one of its partners, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, who is involved in the custody matter currently before a Lagos court. The firm emphasized that the case is sub judice and warned against any form of intimidation, harassment, or interference with judicial proceedings, stressing that justice depends on fearless advocacy and respect for the rule of law.
Shortly after the statement circulated online, a video surfaced in which the lawyer’s sister directly called out Davido, accusing him of allegedly sharing her sister’s personal information online and encouraging cyberbullying by fans. In the emotional video, she claimed her sister has received harassment, repeated phone calls, and alleged death threats following the public attention around the case.
She further alleged that the confrontation stemmed from her sister’s professional role in court, stating that the lawyer merely asked Davido to prove his fitness as a father during legal proceedings. According to her, the situation escalated into what she described as verbal abuse and intimidation.
The speaker warned that while the case may be in Nigeria, she is prepared to pursue accountability internationally if the alleged harassment continues, urging Davido to remove the lawyer’s contact details from social media and publicly instruct his fans to desist. She also appealed to the public and Davido’s supporters to intervene and encourage restraint.
As the custody battle remains before the court, legal observers continue to stress the importance of allowing due process to take its course without external pressure, public intimidation, or online harassment of legal practitioners involved.
