Chimamanda Adichie Alleges Medical Negligence in the Death of Her 21-Month-Old Son

Renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has released a heartbreaking statement following the death of her 21-month-old son, Nkanu, after a medical procedure in Lagos.
According to her, her son was taken to Euracare Hospital on January 6 for routine tests and preparation for a planned medical evacuation to the United States the next day. She alleged that during the procedure, her son was given too much anesthetic and was not properly monitored, which led to complications including seizures and cardiac arrest.
Chimamanda accused the anesthesiologist of serious negligence and careless handling of her child, stating that Nkanu was stable before the procedure but never recovered afterward.
She also questioned why the doctor involved was allowed to continue practicing, claiming there were previous similar cases.
