President Tinubu Nominates Magnus Abe, Adeniji as NUPRC, NMDPRA Board Chairmen

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former Senator Magnus Abe and energy expert Adegbite Ebiowei Adeniji as board chairmen of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), respectively, and has asked the Senate to confirm their appointments.
The President also submitted 21 nominees to serve on the boards of both oil and gas regulators established under the Petroleum Industry Act, urging the Senate to approve the nominations expeditiously following the confirmation of the agencies’ chief executive officers.
Abe, a former NNPC board member, was nominated to chair the NUPRC, while Adeniji, an energy lawyer with over 30 years’ experience, was nominated as NMDPRA chairman.
