A moment of panic was averted on a waterway in Rivers State after a passenger boat capsized, prompting swift intervention from nearby boat operators who rallied around to rescue those onboard.
A video of the incident, which has since circulated online, shows the boat overturning while other boat riders quickly moved in to assist the stranded passengers. The coordinated effort helped prevent what could have resulted in loss of lives.
According to eyewitness accounts shared online all passengers were rescued successfully, and no casualties were recorded from the incident. Those onboard were said to be brought to safety almost immediately after the boat capsized.
