Jazzman Calls Out Adekunle Gold Over Rehearsal of “Raise Da Roof”

Singer Jazzman Olofin has publicly called out fellow artiste Adekunle Gold after spotting preparations for a London show that, he says, involved rehearsing his 22-year-old hit “Raise Da Roof.” In an Instagram post, Jazzman wrote that while he has “no issue with an artiste freestyling another artist’s song,” he took issue with the scale of the rehearsal, describing a “one million man live band” preparing the track — and urged Adekunle Gold to contact him directly next time.
Jazzman added that he is “very much alive and still actively performing” and warned against dancing around the matter, telling the singer, “Next time call baba.” The post has since drawn attention online, with fans and industry observers debating whether proper credit or permission should be sought when older hits are used in large-scale productions.
