Don Jazzy Explains Why He Left His Car With UK Police After It Was Impounded

Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has addressed a long-rumored incident from his early days in the UK, clarifying what really happened when his car was impounded. According to Vanguard, the controversy resurfaced after his former associate, Bankulli, claimed Jazzy had been involved in a car crash in London, removed his number plate, and fled the scene. Bankulli suggested that Jazzy was “trying to survive in London” and that abandoning the car made more financial sense than retrieving it.

Don Jazzy, however, offered a candid clarification. He explained that he actually waited for the police, who arrived, conducted a breathalyser test confirming he was not drunk, and subsequently impounded the car. He decided not to go back for it because the fine to retrieve the vehicle was higher than the value of the car itself. “The fine to collect the car back was more than the cheap car so I left it with them lol,” he said, injecting humor into the story.

He stressed that contrary to the claims, he did not flee from the scene. His decision to leave the car was purely financial, reflecting a practical approach rather than recklessness.
