REGINA CHUKWU, OTHERS, BLAST FOLUKE DARAMOLA FOR SUPPORTING APC AT GREATER KOSOFE RALLY AMID NATIONAL HARDSHIPS

A wave of criticism has trailed the appearance of several Nollywood stars at the APC Greater Kosofe Rally, with many Nigerians expressing outrage over what they see as a tone-deaf show of support for the ruling party amidst worsening national crises.

Photos and videos from the rally showed actors and actresses—including veteran Foluke Daramola—cheering and posing with party officials, dressed in APC-branded outfits. The display sparked fierce backlash online, especially as the country continues to battle rising insecurity, inflation, hunger, and economic hardship under the APC-led administration.

Among those who reacted strongly was actress Regina Chukwu, who did not hold back her disappointment after spotting her colleague Foluke Daramola in the viral video.

Referring to the growing insecurity across the nation, Regina made a pointed and emotional remark:

“If dem never kpai one of una, una no go rest,” suggesting that it may take personal tragedy for some entertainers to grasp the gravity of the situation and the implications of their political affiliations.

The post has since triggered a broader debate, with social media users and fellow celebrities split between defending the actors’ rights to political freedom and criticizing what they see as betrayal of public trust.

As political tension rises and the 2027 elections draw nearer, the spotlight is once again on public figures—many of whom are being urged to stand with the people rather than cozy up to power.
