SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE REVEALS VIOLENT ASSAULT AS CASSIE TESTIFIES AGAINST SEAN “DIDDY” COMBS
Shocking unedited surveillance footage showing Sean “Diddy” Combs violently assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was presented in court Tuesday, offering jurors a chilling glimpse into a 2016 hotel incident long shrouded in secrecy.
The grainy video, played in full for the first time, captured the embattled music mogul dragging Ventura by her hoodie, slamming her to the floor, and kicking her near an elevator—all while dressed only in a towel and socks. The courtroom fell silent as the disturbing images played without audio.
Cassie, 38, returned to court for direct testimony, detailing years of alleged abuse at the hands of Combs, including manipulation, threats, and coerced participation in multi-day sex parties, dubbed “Freak Offs,” involving escorts, drugs, and surveillance.
“I didn’t feel I had much of a choice,” she said, describing her introduction to the parties. “Over time, there were blackmail materials to make me feel like if I didn’t do it, it would be hung over my head.”
She testified that Combs would film the encounters and use the footage as leverage. At the time, Ventura said she was sexually inexperienced and quickly became trapped in a cycle of control, fear, and emotional devastation.
Former hotel security guard Israel Florez, who responded to the 2016 incident, also testified, recounting how he documented the surveillance footage on his phone out of concern no one would believe what he saw. He alleged that Combs offered him a bribe to suppress the footage: “You take care of this, I got you.”
Florez refused, stating he only wanted respect for himself and other guests. He submitted his written report and photographs from the scene as evidence.
Ventura revealed that Combs kept firearms in their homes and frequently used violence to maintain control. “He would stomp me in the head if I was down,” she said, describing years of physical abuse that left her with visible injuries.
Two days after the hotel assault, Combs and Ventura appeared publicly at a film premiere, seemingly unbothered. Prosecutors now allege that Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for the original security footage to cover up the incident.
Combs’ legal team attempted to block Ventura’s testimony, citing her current pregnancy as potentially prejudicial. The judge allowed her to proceed.
Prosecutors argue the music mogul orchestrated a criminal operation involving sex trafficking, coercion, and abuse of power. If convicted, Combs could face life imprisonment. He has denied all charges, asserting that the encounters were consensual and part of a “kinky” lifestyle—not a criminal enterprise.
