FORMER BAYELSA MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR, CALEB OLUBOLADE, DI£S AT 70

Rear Admiral Caleb Olubolade (rtd), a former military administrator of Bayelsa State and one-time Minister of Special Duties under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has died at the age of 70.
According to a statement issued by his children, Akinadewo and Dayo Olubolade, the retired naval officer passed away on Sunday in the Apapa area of Lagos after collapsing while playing lawn tennis.
“He drove himself to the facility to play lawn tennis in the evening and slumped while playing. Efforts were made by medical officers around to revive him to no avail,” the statement read.
Olubolade was confirmed dead upon arrival at the Obisesan Naval Medical Centre in Apapa.
A seasoned public servant and decorated military officer, Olubolade celebrated his 70th birthday on November 30, 2024. His death marks the end of a distinguished career in both military and civilian service.
