Renowned Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay Idibia has finally spoken out about her divorce from Nigerian Afrobeats icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
In a heartfelt message circulating online, Annie, who recently completed rehabilitation revealed that she deliberately chose silence following 2Baba’s public announcement of their separation. She also wiped all posts on her Instagram page.
It will be recalled that in January 2025, 2Baba confirmed the end of their 13-year marriage, stating they were in the process of finalizing their divorce. Following the revelation, reports emerged that Annie was battling depression and had been admitted to a rehabilitation center for medical care. Since then, she has remained off social media.
In a recent update, Annie shared her journey of self-reflection and healing, emphasizing that love, pain, lessons, and growth are all essential parts of life. She stated that her focus now is on personal growth, her children’s well-being, and the future.
“Silence isn’t weakness—it’s peace. Since my divorce from Innocent Idibia, I chose to step back, reflect, and heal away from the noise. The truth is, not everything needs to be explained, and not every battle is meant to be fought in public. Love, pain, lessons, and growth all come with life’s journey. I have embraced mine with grace, focusing on myself, my children, and the future ahead. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words.”
