TANZANIAN MEDIA PERSONALITY MANGE KIMAMBI WARNS PRISCILLA OJO OVER PUBLIC ROMANCE WITH JUMA JUX
Tanzanian media personality and activist Mange Kimambi has publicly cautioned Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo over her budding relationship with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, urging her to lay low amid the country’s escalating political climate.
In a strongly worded message shared via Instagram, Mange addressed the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, expressing concern over the timing of her public displays of affection with Jux. Tanzania is gearing up for critical elections, and Kimambi emphasized that the country is currently in the throes of a major political battle for democratic rights.
“@its.priscy, your Tanzanian in-laws love you. You seem like such a sweet girl, and we’ve welcomed you with loving arms,” Mange began. “But Tanzania is in the fight of a lifetime. We’re fighting for our rights, and we need our people focused. We don’t need you and Jux distracting us with social media content that plays into the government’s hands.”
Kimambi urged the couple to refrain from posting any romantic content for the next five months — the critical period leading to and immediately following the national elections — warning that such distractions could undermine the public’s focus on political reform.
She continued, “Please don’t make us hate you, our in-law. Next week when you go to London, keep Jux indoors. Don’t post anything that will derail the momentum of this movement.”
In a bold call-out, she also asked Juma Jux to encourage his close friend, music star Diamond Platnumz, to adopt the same restraint. According to Kimambi, their public silence would be a sign of solidarity — or, at the very least, respect — for the ongoing civic struggle.
“If you want to stir drama or chase clout, take it back to Nigeria. We love you, our sweet, beautiful girl, and we love Nigerians. But please, don’t take this the wrong way — this is bigger than entertainment.”
