A follower of Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Chief Tompolo, has publicly called him out over alleged double standards in the fight against crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.

In a strongly worded comment circulating on social media, the follower accused government officials of being actively involved in illegal crude oil loading, despite public campaigns urging locals to stop oil theft.

“Chief Tompolo, you asked us to stop stealing crude oil, but these are government officials going to load crude oil illegally. Everyone is collecting contracts and keeping quiet,”

Chief Tompolo, a former militant leader turned key player in pipeline surveillance and oil security, has often spoken against crude oil theft, calling on youths in the Niger Delta to protect national assets and embrace peace.

As of the time of this report, Tompolo has not responded to the accusation. The development has further fueled conversations about transparency, accountability, and fairness in Nigeria’s oil theft crackdown.
