Yhemolee Drags Food Critic Opeyemi Famakin Over Review of His Wife’s Perfume Brand

Social media personality Yhemolee has called out popular food critic Opeyemi Famakin following a review he did on his wife’s perfume business, describing the critic’s comments as demeaning and unnecessary.
Reacting in a video that has since gone viral, Yhemolee accused Famakin of deliberately trying to pull down the brand under the guise of criticism. According to him, while he has no issue with honest reviews, he took offence at what he described as disrespectful and damaging remarks directed at his wife’s product.
Yhemolee stated that “some of una life don spoil for this internet,” adding that Famakin could have gone ahead with his critique without resorting to statements that poured “shit” on the brand. He questioned why the critic would speak negatively about a product linked to someone he claims to respect.
He further alleged that the brand’s marketing team had earlier reached out to Famakin during the perfume launch for a video review, but he reportedly demanded ₦6 million for the service. Yhemolee claimed that if the fee had been paid, the review would likely have been positive.
According to him, Famakin only decided to buy a bottle and do a review after noticing that the perfume brand was gaining traction and performing well in the market, suggesting that the move was driven more by clout than genuine feedback.
