At just 22 years old, Olasubomi Raheem Okoya, the Executive Director of Eleganza Industries, is navigating the pressures of leadership while under intense public scrutiny. In a candid interview, he spoke openly about his challenges, values, and aspirations.
“I don’t like fake news. I hate fake news, bro,” Okoya said. “The media… they like to villainize me, to make people hate me. They will take a little thing or completely change the narrative about me. It’s painful.”
Despite the pressure, Okoya credits his preparation and family guidance for helping him succeed. “Omo Oga alone did not bring me here. I’ve been learning this position my whole life, shadowing my dad. This has been ten years in the making.”
He emphasized hard work and financial discipline: “I earn my salary. I have investors. People believe in my music and put money behind it. My dad wasn’t always rich; he instilled values in us to build, work, and create, rather than just spend and destroy.”
Okoya reflected fondly on his upbringing in Isale Eko, sharing how music and family shaped his life. “Music started when I was a young boy. Through real-life experiences, through what I go through. K1, he’s a legend. He used to ring in the corridors of my house. I love my dad so much. He’s my number one hero. I just hope I can really make him proud one day.”
He also paid tribute to his mother, calling her “Mummy of Lagos”, acknowledging the strong foundation of values his parents instilled in him.
