A legal expert and mother recently shared her perspective on the ongoing custody discussion involving David and Sophia, offering an objective view of what courts typically consider in such cases.

According to her, Imade has lived with Sophia since birth, while David has had intermittent visitation rights. In 2024, following a major dispute, David filed for custody.

“Even though David is successful in his career, his work requires extensive travel and long hours in the studio. No court would grant custody if it meant the child would primarily rely on carers and extended family rather than the parent,” she explained.

She also highlighted the challenges of joint custody across countries. “Sophia resides in Nigeria, while David splits time between Nigeria and Atlanta. Granting joint custody could disrupt Imade’s schooling, social life, and sense of stability.”

On the topic of child safety, she emphasized, “The court’s focus is on a stable, loving, and safe environment. That’s non-negotiable.”

Her insights underscore the complexity of international custody cases and the importance of prioritizing the child’s emotional and educational well-being above all else.
