“SHE’S STILL MY WIFE FOR LIFE” — FUJI LEGEND KOLLINGTON AYINLA DECLARES ABOUT EX-WIFE SALAWA ABENI
Veteran Fuji musician, General Kollington Ayinla, has reignited public interest in his decades-old relationship with Waka queen Salawa Abeni, declaring that she remains his wife despite their separation over 30 years ago.
In a recent sit-down with Teju Babyface on The Deep Dive show, the Fuji icon made the bold claim that Salawa is still his wife “till the end of life,” and referred to her current partner as someone merely “loaning” her.
“Salawa has three children for me. She is my wife till the end of life,” he said. “The person she is currently with is only loaning her.”
When pressed on the reason behind their breakup, Kollington offered a spiritual explanation, saying:
“That’s how God wants it to be.”
The pair, who were once one of Nigerian music’s most talked-about couples, went their separate ways in 1990 after eight years together and three children. Though both moved on publicly, their connection has remained a topic of fascination for fans over the years.
