“Not 10, Not 20… Over 70 EFCC Officers Entered My Compound”– Man Recounts Alleged EFCC Raid In Asaba

Residents of a compound in Asaba, Delta State, were thrown into panic after operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly stormed the area in the early hours of the morning.
In a viral video shared online, a content creator recounted how heavily armed officers allegedly raided his compound around 2–3 a.m. According to him, between 70 to 80 operatives entered the premises, breaking gates and doors while searching apartments.
The man described the experience as “crazy” and tense, saying officers smashed doors, demanded phones, and moved from one apartment to another. He claimed the operatives came fully prepared, reportedly carrying ladders and heavy tools to gain access into buildings.
Although he said he was not arrested, he revealed that several young men in the compound were taken away during the operation. He also alleged that other nearby compounds were raided the same night, with suspects reportedly transported out of Asaba.
The EFCC has not yet released an official statement regarding the alleged raid at the time of this report. However, the commission has in recent months intensified operations across different states as part of its crackdown on cybercrime.
The incident has sparked conversations online, with many young residents expressing fear over late-night raids and urging others to stay safe.
