Two Die, Others Injured as Commercial Bus Catches Fire in Lagos

At least two people have died and several others were injured after a commercial mini‑bus (popularly called a “korope”) caught fire in the Ballet area of Mile 2, Lagos on Tuesday.
According to Punch Newspaper, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority shared a video on X showing emergency responders on the scene as they battled the blaze and attended to victims.
A joint team that included the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and police officers was deployed to manage the incident and provide medical attention to injured passengers.
The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated, and authorities are expected to release more details as the situation develops.
Traffic around the area was reportedly managed to minimise disruptions as first responders worked to secure the scene and assist victims.
