Nigerian rapper and social activist Falz (Folarin Falana) has taken a powerful swipe at public figures and pro-government influencers who share messages like “Relax, Tinubu is fixing Nigeria,” in the wake of devastating security crises particularly after nearly 200 people were killed in coordinated attacks in Kwara State earlier this month.
Speaking on social media, Falz lamented the contrast between the scale of human suffering and the patriotic slogans shared by some celebrities and influencers, pointing to what he views as a troubling disconnect between public messaging and the harsh realities facing Nigerians.
“I don’t know when we will wake up. Nearly 200 people killed in Kwara, yet some celebrities and influencers share messages like ‘Relax, Tinubu is fixing Nigeria.’ They will still attend your church, and your pastors will allow them to campaign.”
The deadly Kwara incident, which prompted the deployment of Nigerian troops and international attention, has intensified debates over national leadership, governance, and priorities especially as influencers amplify political catchphrases even amid widespread grief and outrage.
