In a statement on its official X account, Dangote Petroleum Refinery warned that continued reliance on coastal logistics transporting petrol by sea adds avoidable costs that could be passed on to consumers.

The refinery explained that coastal delivery can add about ₦75 per litre to the cost of petrol. If marketers pass this cost on to motorists, pump prices could climb close to ₦1,000 per litre a significant jump from current levels.

Dangote emphasised that its gantry loading system remains the most cost-efficient way to distribute fuel and avoid extra maritime charges.
