President Tinubu has accepted his resignation and expressed gratitude for his service to the nation. The President is expected to formally notify the Senate of Badaru’s successor later this week.
Badaru Abubakar, aged 63, previously served as the two-term Governor of Jigawa State (2015–2023) before his appointment as Minister on August 21, 2023.
His resignation comes at a crucial time, following President Tinubu’s recent declaration of a national security emergency, with further details expected to be unveiled soon.
