Nigerian content creator and actress Mbong Sule has come forward with a disturbing revelation about the threats she and her husband have been receiving for months. In a post shared on her Instagram page, she revealed that since February, unknown individuals using virtual foreign phone numbers have been sending aggressive and frightening messages, including RIP posters, graphic images, and claims that someone has been harmed with warnings that her husband could be next.
Mbong, who was previously known as Mbong Amata before remarrying, rose to prominence as a Nollywood actress and former beauty queen. After her divorce from filmmaker Jeta Amata, with whom she shares a daughter, she transitioned into UGC content creation and food-focused lifestyle content. She married her current husband, Thomas Sule, in 2022, marking a new phase of her personal and professional life.
According to her statement, the threats initially began without any clear motive, and she and her husband chose to remain silent in hopes that the harassment would fade. Instead, the situation escalated. She revealed that as law enforcement began tracking persons of interest, she started receiving new messages accusing her husband of “illegally detaining suspects,” accompanied by attempts to blackmail them with threats to spread damaging narratives online if certain individuals were not released.
In her words, she emphasized that she and her husband do not know any of the people behind these threats and have no personal issues with anyone. She expressed fear and disappointment over what she described as a worsening climate in the country, where innocent families can be randomly targeted and threatened with such brutality.
Mbong confirmed that every threat has been reported to the Nigeria Police and the DSS, and that an active investigation is ongoing. She stated that they are fully cooperating with authorities and will continue to rely on legal protection to safeguard their family. She added that while the details of the threats are too disturbing to share publicly, they have all been handed over to the appropriate agencies.
She ended her message by thanking everyone who has reached out in support, affirming that she and her husband remain strong, prayerful, and confident that justice will prevail.
