President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba alongside several gallant soldiers during an operation in Borno.
In a solemn statement, the President said he is “heartbroken” by the tragic events and is holding the victims’ families in his prayers.
According to President Tinubu:
“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.”
The President also condemned the attack on innocent schoolgirls, describing the terrorists as heartless and assuring Nigerians that he has directed security agencies to act with urgency and precision to bring the children home safely.
He added:
“Our forces need the full cooperation of every community. Sharing information can save lives and protect our children.”
Tinubu acknowledged the rise in violent extremism across parts of the country, promising that those responsible will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.
“May God comfort the bereaved families,” he concluded.
