Imisi’s Mother Breaks Silence Again As Family Tension Deepens

The mother of Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, has spoken once more amid the ongoing public conversation surrounding her relationship with her daughter. A new video has surfaced online, where she addresses Nigerians directly, expressing the emotional toll the controversy has taken on her and clarifying why she believes the narrative about her has been unfairly shaped.

According to her, the past few weeks have been deeply challenging. She said she has endured constant insults, harsh comments, and accusations from members of the public, many of which were based on claims she believes are untrue. The emotional strain, she revealed, has been overwhelming, noting that she has cried repeatedly as the situation escalated online.

In the clip, she stressed that she is still the mother of the reality TV star and pleaded with Nigerians to show more restraint and understanding. She urged people to be mindful of the things they say, insisting that the backlash she has received has been disproportionate. Among her statements, she addressed a major point of concern, saying:

“I told Imisi to go live and say what actually happened, but she told me to leave Instagram.”

She also recounted a disturbing experience in Ojuelegba, where she said someone physically attacked her during the height of the online drama. She claimed she didn’t respond or retaliate, not because she was guilty of any accusation, but because she wanted to avoid escalating a sensitive family matter.

The controversy began after old statements from Imisi surfaced online, where the reality star said that she left home at a young age due to issues with her mother. The mother, however, has consistently denied ever sending her away or neglecting her. In earlier online appearances and interviews, she also explained that she currently stays with her younger sister in Ajah, Lagos, where she has been receiving support from those around her. She insisted that she has been quietly living her life even before her daughter’s rise to fame and was not motivated by money or public attention.

She further expressed disappointment about being left out of key moments after Imisi’s victory, including the church thanksgiving service which she said she was not informed about. She maintained that she has always been part of her daughter’s life and contributed financially long before the BBNaija win, countering claims that she suddenly reappeared because of fame.

In past statements, she also revealed that on the day of the BBNaija finale, she was only informed around 4 p.m. that her daughter would be leaving the house that night, saying she felt sidelined even as the mother of the eventual winner.

Despite the tension, she appealed to Nigerians to approach the situation with empathy, reminding the public that families experience conflict and misunderstandings. She emphasized that the online conversation had become too heated and that, while she understands the public’s interest in her daughter, some comments had crossed boundaries and inflicted real emotional harm.

On her part, Imisi has responded in earlier posts, reassuring fans that her family remains her priority and asking the public to allow them space to resolve their differences privately. She has not gone into details about the rift but has indicated that she does not wish for the situation to escalate further.

For now, the situation remains sensitive, with Nigerians divided in their reactions. Some have called for reconciliation, while others continue to debate the timeline of events. What remains clear is that both mother and daughter are under intense public scrutiny, and the emotional weight of the situation continues to unfold.
