FANI-KAYODE DENIES CLAIMS BY KEMI OLUNLOYO THAT HIS EX-WIFE PLANNED TO K!DNAP HER
Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has publicly denied claims made by controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo, who alleged in a viral video that she received intelligence from him stating his ex-wife, Precious Chikwendu, had once planned to have her kidnapped.
The explosive claim, which has sparked widespread reactions online, was made by Olunloyo in a now-trending clip. However, Fani-Kayode has swiftly refuted the allegation, taking to his official Facebook page on Saturday to set the record straight.
“My ex-wife and mother of my four sons, Dr. Precious Chikwendu, sent me a video of my childhood friend and sister, Madame Kemi Olunloyo, in which she made extensive comments about a matter that does not concern me or my family,” he wrote.
He continued, “The only thing she said which concerns me is the baseless allegation that I told her Precious had planned to have her kidnapped some years ago. This is patently false. I never said anything of the sort, and my sister Kemi is in error.”
Fani-Kayode acknowledged his decades-long friendship with Olunloyo, suggesting the claim may have been a case of mistaken memory rather than malicious intent.
“Given our 43-year relationship, I’d prefer to believe it was a genuine error,” he added.
He also emphasized that his relationship with Chikwendu, though once strained, is now amicable.
“Precious and I have had our differences in the past, but we put all that behind us long ago. As the mother of my children, she remains part of my life and family. We enjoy a cordial and close relationship even though we are no longer married,” he said, urging Olunloyo and the public to refrain from involving them in public discourse.
Fani-Kayode and Precious Chikwendu share four sons and had previously been involved in a high-profile and acrimonious separation, marked by legal and social media confrontations.
