“I’M GLAD I DIDN’T HAVE A BOY” — MICHELLE OBAMA JOKINGLY SAYS HER SON WOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER BARACK

Former First Lady Michelle Obama stirred laughter and sparked online conversations after candidly admitting she was “glad” not to have had a son — because he would have turned out exactly like her husband, former President Barack Obama.

The 61-year-old author and mother of two made the remark on a new episode of her podcast IMO — which she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson. The siblings were joined by Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez, who jokingly suggested that Michelle “should have thrown a boy in the mix.”

“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy,” Michelle responded, shaking her head with a knowing smile.
“Because he would have been a Barack Obama. Ooh.”

While Martinez found the idea of “Baby Barack” endearing, Michelle didn’t seem as thrilled.

“No, I woulda felt for him,” she said, drawing laughter.

The episode centered around parenting boys — Martinez has one son, while Robinson is father to three. Michelle, however, has two daughters, Sasha and Malia, and reflected on the unique challenges of raising sons, particularly Black boys in America.

She touched on teaching them not just how to navigate encounters like traffic stops, but also how to communicate in relationships and show up emotionally in marriages — subtle but telling comments that fueled ongoing speculation about the state of her own 32-year marriage to Barack Obama.

Despite the humorous jab, Michelle recently praised her husband’s parenting, comparing him to rock legend Bruce Springsteen in a June 11 IMO episode, calling Barack a “tremendous father, doing it in a lot of grandeur.”

As divorce rumors continue to swirl, the Obamas have made several high-profile public appearances together in recent months, from an intimate dinner in Midtown Manhattan to a cozy outing in Washington, D.C.

Michelle, meanwhile, revealed she is in therapy and “transitioning” into a new phase of life, embracing honesty and humor as she navigates it all — even if it means teasing the former president along the way.
