TWO UNDOCUMENTED NIGERIANS DEPORTED UPON REENTRY TO THE UK AFTER ATTENDING FAMILY WEDDING

Two Nigerians living in the United Kingdom without proper immigration status have reportedly been deported after attempting to return to the UK from Nigeria, where they had attended a family wedding.

The incident was shared by a UK-based Nigerian legal practitioner, who issued a cautionary note to undocumented migrants. According to his account, the individuals had traveled to Lagos for a cousin’s wedding but were denied entry upon their return to the UK. Immigration officials reportedly flagged their lack of legal status, resulting in their immediate deportation.

The lawyer urged Nigerians in similar situations—especially those with unresolved immigration or employment issues—to avoid international travel at this time, warning that they risk being denied reentry.

“So guys, if you are not ‘correct’ and your employment situation is not sure, do not travel out of the country so that you are not gone forever,” he wrote.

The case highlights growing concerns about the enforcement of immigration laws in the UK, especially for individuals without proper documentation or legal work status.
