FAMILY RAISES ALARM OVER DISAPPEARANCE OF 26-YEAR-OLD LAGOS BANKER
The family of a 26-year-old banker, Osemudiamen Idemudia, has expressed deep concern over his mysterious disappearance while returning home from work in Lagos.
According to his father, Julius Idemudia, the young banker was last seen on the evening of Friday, May 9, 2025. Osemudiamen, who worked in the Point-of-Sale (POS) unit of a commercial bank, had reportedly left his office in the Ikota area with a colleague to attend a scheduled meeting with a senior staff member at the bank’s head office in CMS, Lagos Island.
However, upon arrival, the meeting was abruptly cancelled, prompting the duo to part ways and head home. Julius said that was the last time anyone heard from or saw his son.
“After they got to CMS and parted ways, Osemudiamen was supposed to take a bus to Iyana Ipaja, then connect to Igando where he lives. But by nightfall, there was no word from him. It was unlike him, and we immediately grew worried. After 24 hours of silence, we raised the alarm,” the distraught father told Punch on Wednesday, May 14.
He added that the incident was promptly reported to the Igando Police Station, which serves the Akesan area where Osemudiamen resides.
“We’ve filed a missing person report and are now pushing for a deeper investigation, including plans to meet with the bank’s Chief Security Officer,” he said.
The family continues to appeal to the public for any useful information that could assist in locating their son, as anxiety grows over his unexplained absence.
