ACTRESS OMOWUNMI DADA OPENS UP ON LEG SURGERY
Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has publicly revealed that she recently underwent leg surgery after enduring prolonged pain and discomfort, a struggle she kept hidden while maintaining an active public life.
The actress made the emotional revelation via Instagram on Tuesday, posting a video montage that chronicled her recovery journey. The footage showed scenes from her time in the hospital, using crutches, undergoing X-rays, and being surrounded by supportive loved ones.
Despite grappling with intense pain, Dada shared that she continued to work on film sets and attend public events without letting on. “Sometimes we smile through the pain so convincingly that no one sees the storm we’re facing,” she wrote. “For so long, I pushed through the discomfort… but deep down I was struggling.”
After years of trying to manage the pain, she ultimately decided to undergo surgery—a move she described as “difficult and humbling.” She admitted that the post-surgery limitations were daunting but credited her faith for seeing her through. “God carried me through it. I’m still on the journey, but my healing is unfolding beautifully,” she noted.
The actress also expressed gratitude to the medical team, friends, and family who supported her throughout her recovery. “To my amazing doctors… my friends who checked in… and to my family, your strength gave me strength,” she added.
