ACTIVIST ADETOUN APOLOGIZES TO WOMAN SHE CONFRONTED OVER CHILD LABOR

Activist Adetoun has apologized to the woman she publicly confronted for bringing her 11-year-old daughter to help with her sweeping job at 4:30 AM in Ikoyi.

Earlier, Detoun had shared a video of herself reprimanding the woman for allowing her daughter to assist in sweeping an estate where she was employed. She argued that involving a minor in such work constituted child labor and was against the law.

However, after facing backlash for her approach, Detoun visited the woman to apologize if her actions had caused her humiliation. During their conversation, the woman revealed that she earns ₦19,500 for her job and commutes from Oworo to Ikoyi daily. She explained that her husband is unemployed, making her the sole provider for her family.

The incident has reignited discussions on poverty, child labor, and the best ways to offer support to struggling families.
