LILIAN AFEGBAI REACTS TO $1,200 ASO EBI PRICE FOR FRIEND’S WEDDING
Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has expressed shock and frustration after being asked to pay a whopping $1,200 for aso ebi at a friend’s wedding in Lagos.
Taking to Instagram on March 26, 2025, Lili recounted how she excitedly congratulated her friend upon receiving an invitation, only to be left stunned when she saw the price of the wedding fabric.
“Una don dey sell aso ebi in dollars for Lagos? You people now sell aso ebi for your own wedding in dollars? You guys are doing too much!” she exclaimed.
She went on to narrate her disbelief, saying:
“I was on my own when a friend of mine sent me an invitation to her wedding. I congratulated her happily and checked the date to make sure I was available. That’s when I saw the price—1,200. At first, I thought it was Naira, and I was even thinking, ‘Shey she’s doing giveaway?’ But then I checked again and saw the dollar sign behind it!”
Still in shock, she did the conversion:
“I checked the exchange rate—$1,200 × ₦1,600. How many millions is that? For your own wedding? And I do? Is it my ‘I do’? It’s not fair na! Everybody should relax—there’s life after the wedding o!”
