GOVERNOR ADELEKE TO DETHRONE MONARCHS OVER COMMUNAL CLASH
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a stern warning to the Olufon of Ifon and Olobu of Ilobu, threatening to dethrone them if communal clashes persist.
Following the deadly land dispute that spread to Erin-Osun, leading to three deaths, 30 injuries, and over 100,000 displaced persons, Adeleke enforced a 24-hour curfew and deployed security forces.
At a meeting with the monarchs, he warned: “If violence resurfaces, you will be suspended.” Both kings were handed warning letters, signaling the government’s tough stance.
