A viral video has captured the moment a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) confronted a lecturer after he interrupted her recording session.
The student was dancing in a corridor within her department when the lecturer, identified as Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye from the Faculty of Arts, attempted to pass by, tapping her while saying, “Excuse me.” In response, the student gave him a sharp look and said, “Can you imagine? He just hit me.”
Another clip shows the situation escalating as the student physically engages with the lecturer while onlookers try to intervene. As she grabbed him, the lecturer raised his hands in the air, seemingly to indicate he was not retaliating.
A statement, allegedly from the lecturer, has since circulated across WhatsApp groups in the school. In the purported chat, he explained that after overhearing the student insult him as he walked past, he returned to verify if she was one of his students. It is claimed that when he reached for her phone, she reacted by allegedly biting him on both arms.
The student, identified as a 300-level History and International Studies major, is also reportedly the daughter of a female lecturer in the university’s Engineering department.
