VETERAN ACTOR NKEM OWOH CELEBRATES 70TH BIRTHDAY 

Legendary Nollywood actor and comedian, Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, is celebrating his 70th birthday today.

A household name in the Nigerian film industry, Owoh played a significant role in the childhood of many Nigerians, starring in numerous iconic and hilarious roles.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, the veteran actor expressed gratitude for the gift of life and good health.

He wrote, “Hurray! I’m 70 years today.”

Nkem Owoh has featured in several hit movies, including Osuofia in London—the film that earned him the nickname Osuofia—as well as Stronger Than Pain, Ikuku, and many more.

His stellar performances have earned him numerous awards, including the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Stronger Than Pain and the AMAA Lifetime Achievement Award at the 13th edition of the ceremony.

Beyond acting, Osuofia has also been a sought-after brand ambassador. In 2012, telecom giant MTN signed him to a multimillion-naira endorsement deal—a partnership that has been repeatedly renewed over the years.
