ABDUCTED ANAMBRA LAWMAKER FOUND D£CØMPOSING ON 2ND NIGER BRIDGE

Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North Constituency 1, has been found dead.

According to reports, Azuka was kidnapped at gunpoint on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunabakpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha.

His decomposing body was discovered on the night of February 5, 2025, by a joint security team at the 2nd Niger Bridge.

Reports indicate that the suspects responsible for his abduction and murder have been arrested. They allegedly led security operatives to the location where his body was dumped.

“We have arrested the culprits who kidnapped and killed him. They were apprehended late last night (Wednesday) and later took security officials to where they abandoned the corpse,” a security source told Sahara Reporters.

The tragic incident has left many in mourning. “What a huge loss. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, the traditional ruler of Onitsha, Obi of Onitsha, Dr. Alfred Achebe, and the entire people of Onitsha North Constituency 1.”

Azuka, a Labour Party (LP) chieftain, had reclaimed his mandate after a court ruling nullified the victory of Hon. Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was initially declared the winner of the 2023 election.
