UNILAG STUDENT WHO BEGGED FOR SCHOOL FEES GRADUATES WITH HONORS
A University of Lagos (UNILAG) student, Oluwakemi Emmanuel, a University of Lagos (UNILAG) student who once resorted to begging on the streets for her school fees, has reached an extraordinary milestone.
In 2023, Oluwakemi gained attention online after being spotted in the Ifako-Gbagada area of Lagos, holding a placard pleading for assistance with her N225,000 school fees. This was after the university announced a fee hike. Her message read, “Please help a final year student with her school fees. God bless you.”
Now, in 2025, Oluwakemi has successfully graduated with honors in B.Sc. Mass Communication. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed profound gratitude for God’s guidance and for the financial support she received during her struggle.
She shared her joy online: “Officially a B.Sc. Mass Communication graduate from the University of Lagos! What started in December 2017 has finally come to a beautiful end today. I’m deeply grateful to God for guiding me through this journey and to everyone who supported me financially along the way. ❤️❤️.”
