Pastor Dr. David Ogbueli, President and Senior Pastor of Dominion City, has sparked discussion with a fiery sermon addressing sexual intimacy within marriage. In a video circulating online, he condemned anal sex, even between husband and wife, as spiritually dangerous, linking it to biblical accounts and demonic influence.
“Sodomy is anal sex. The one God made for male and female. You don’t want it anymore. You want it from the back.” Pastor Ogbueli said. He stressed that the judgment that befell Sodom and Gomorrah is not limited to same-sex acts between men, but applies equally to acts that defile the marriage bed.
“It is also the same when you are doing it to your wife. You have defied your marriage, but you have invited Satan into that bedroom.” He emphasized that even when consented to within marriage, these acts open the door to spiritual influences.
The pastor warned of demonic and spiritual forces, referencing the spirits of the Nephilim, fallen beings from biblical accounts that now allegedly influence human behaviour through immoral acts, sexual contact, or even family bloodlines. He highlighted how sexual immorality can have generational impact, saying:
“…Somewhere along the line, somebody either slept with someone who already had those demons… or you practiced the abomination so they had access to come in. Or that it came through your bloodline. Incest has been in your family.”
Ogbueli also urged the church to respond to what he called a “debt of iniquity” affecting both young and older members:
“Deliverance must be compulsory in every church now. Because of the debt of iniquity that is being committed. We need help.”
His sermon underscores his belief that spiritual vigilance, holiness, and adherence to biblical teachings are critical for marriage and personal wellbeing. While his message has attracted controversy, it has sparked wider conversations about intimacy, morality, and spiritual awareness in Nigerian churches.
