There is relief and joy across Nigeria as all abducted pupils taken from St. Mary’s Catholic School in the Papiri community, Niger State, have now been released.
According to ARISE News, another 130 pupils regained their freedom on Sunday, bringing the total number of rescued children to 230, with none left in captivity.
Officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) confirmed the development, describing it as the outcome of sustained security pressure and coordinated rescue efforts by security agencies.
The pupils were abducted when gunmen attacked the boarding school, an incident that sparked nationwide outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of schools across the country.
This successful release marks the end of days of anguish for families and loved ones, as Nigerians continue to pray for improved security and stronger measures to protect students nationwide.
