ARTETA ADMITS WATCHING LIVERPOOL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE “HURT BIG TIME”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confessed that Liverpool’s Premier League title triumph left him feeling deeply disappointed, revealing he could only bring himself to watch a small part of their celebrations.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool side clinched the title in emphatic fashion last weekend, sealing the crown with four games to spare after a 5-1 demolition of Tottenham.

When asked about missing out on the title, Arteta admitted: “Yeah, big time. It hurt in my tummy. I understand it’s a team that’s been more consistent and has the ingredients you need to win it, but it’s still very painful.”

Despite the heartache, the Spaniard was gracious in defeat, offering his congratulations to the champions: “Credit to Liverpool — their management, consistency, and squad depth. They fully deserve it. They were the better team.”

Arteta added that while watching Liverpool’s celebrations stung, he’s already channeling that pain into motivation for next season: “I only watched a small part of it. It hurts, yes, but my motivation lies beyond that. We’re going to try again. Now, our focus is on finishing the season strong.”
