KUNLE AFOLAYAN LAMENTS RISING INCOMPETENCE IN NIGERIA
Renowned Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director Kunle Afolayan has expressed deep frustration over the alarming level of incompetence in the country. Taking to Instagram, the award-winning filmmaker highlighted the irony of people complaining about unemployment yet failing to deliver when given an opportunity.
“I am so saddened by the high level of incompetence in our beloved country. A lot of people cry about not having a job, but when they get one, how efficient are they at it? I’m so pissed!” he wrote.

His statement resonated with many in the entertainment industry, who flooded the comment section to share their experiences:
- Biola Bayo: “Come ask me o! They apply for jobs, get called for an interview, and won’t show up. The ones who do either won’t resume or just don’t want to work.”
- Stephanie Coker: “I spent the whole weekend discussing this.”
- Kiekie: “I am screaming!! This!! It’s alarming! Even with all the money in the world, you still won’t get results! The spirit of excellence is zero.”
Afolayan’s remarks have sparked widespread conversation about work ethics and accountability in Nigeria, with many agreeing that a shift in mindset is urgently needed.
