GOVERNOR FUBARA DENIED ENTRY TO RIVERS STATE ASSEMBLY QUARTERS 

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was denied access to the official quarters of the State House of Assembly along Aba Road, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday. The premises, where lawmakers loyal to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, have been holding their sittings, were locked upon his arrival.

Accompanied by top government officials, including Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, the governor met a barricaded gate, preventing his entry.

Addressing journalists at the scene, Fubara accused Speaker Martin Amaewhule of deliberately avoiding him, revealing that his attempts to reach the Speaker, including multiple phone calls and an official letter, went unanswered.

“Before coming here, I made several attempts to speak with the Speaker. I also sent a formal invitation. Unfortunately, as you can see, the gate is completely sealed, and there is no indication that any proceedings will take place today,” he stated.

Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Rivers State, Fubara emphasized that his actions were in their best interest. “Everything we are doing is for the good of the people, which remains our priority. I expect to hear from them after today,” he added.

Following his remarks, the governor and his entourage departed the premises.
