OGUN POLICE REJECTS PORTABLE’S “MADMAN” CLAIM
The Ogun State Police Command has refuted claims made by Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, that he is currently undergoing psychiatric treatment. The police have reiterated that the singer remains a wanted individual in connection with an alleged assault on government officials.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Portable declared himself a “madman” and claimed to be receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Aro, Abeokuta. The controversial artist made the statement while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government for leniency, following the police’s announcement that he is wanted for questioning.
Despite his claims, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, has dismissed Portable’s assertions, emphasizing that he must surrender himself to the authorities for a proper investigation.
