Prince Andrew, born Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, according to a statement from Thames Valley Police. The arrest was confirmed on his 66th birthday.

Police authorities stated that a man in his sixties from Norfolk was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers are currently conducting searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The development follows what was described as a “thorough assessment” of a complaint linked to the alleged sharing of confidential material with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Images circulating earlier in the day showed vehicles arriving at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk as investigative activities commenced.

In its official statement, Thames Valley Police said:
“As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody at this time. We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance. Please also remember that this case is now active so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court.”

Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
